Elder Ellen Gove, Our moderator, is a native of Massapequa, NY. She is a retired Administrative Secretary to the Superintendent of Schools in Trumbull, Ct. She is the proud mother of two daughters and 3 grandchildren. Ellen lives full-time on Shelter Island and is a member of the Shelter Island Presbyterian Church, where she is an Elder and Clerk of Session. Ellen came to our Presbytery 12 years ago serving as a member of the COM for 6 years and now as Moderator. Ellen believes that every day is a gift. Being aware that staying in the moment and living one day at a time has been the two meaningful gifts to her. Focusing on what God is doing in her midst: to the beauty, to the suffering, to the opportunity. Each day is a gift to be opened, a gift that evokes gratitude and God’s deep love.
